Honesty

Honesty is one of my values. Especially honesty in relationships. For me being honest with someone is building a deeper connection with the person. I had an interesting experience with one person with whom I was trying to build a more authentic friendship and also wanted to see how she would react if I was being honest about having completely different opinion on something she was very invested in.

For one she took my honesty as an attack. I think I expressed my different opinion respectfully but she blamed me as if I had said something bad about what she likes. I literally just said that this thing is not for me what it is for you. If my friend can't handle a sentence like this, are we really friends or you just expect me to say what you want to hear. I don't value friendships like that and also want a friend who isn honest with me not only showers me with "positivity".
